About the Role

Hilltop Holdings is seeking a highly skilled Risk Analyst Associate to join its Risk Advisory department. As a key member of the team, you will provide critical support to the Counterparty Risk Management platform, analyzing and reviewing financial data to identify strengths and weaknesses, key risks, and structural aspects of trading activity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Analyze financial statements and performance ratios to develop initial assessments and identify key risks and strengths.
  • Prepare written analyses, including economic and market conditions, historical financial analysis, and guarantor financial position analysis.
  • Collect and maintain industry data, research industry-specific information, and attend management committees to present counterparty underwriting.
  • Participate in ad hoc meetings, special projects, and reviews as requested.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in business or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 1-3 years of experience in credit analysis, preferably in commercial loans.
  • Working knowledge of the capital markets and various traded products.
  • Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Excellent PC skills, including word processing and spreadsheets via Microsoft Office products.
  • Experience with data analytics, report preparation, and data visualization using tools such as Excel, Python, SQL, Power BI, and PowerPoint.
