Supervises direct support staff to ensure that person-centered care is provided and services meet the organization's quality standards.

Physical requirements to perform essential functions of the job included:
Regular required to lift 20 lbs. Must be able to lift a minimum of 40 lbs. Must be able to pull a minimum of 25 lbs. Must be able to squat, kneel, crawl, crouch, climb, and stoop. Must be able to regularly use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls. Required to regularly stand and walk. Must be able to demonstrate proficiency in CPR from the floor level requiring to work on hands, knees, bending, standing and lifting. Vision requirements include close vision, distance vision, and peripheral vision. Must be able to communicate effectively. Must be able to communicate in ASL at a conversational level.

Bonus: Employee sign on - $1000.00 to be paid in 3 increments:
  • Bonus is for full time employees and paid out according to training schedule.
  • $250.00- After orientation which includes shadowing.
  • $250.00- After completing 90-day probation

PAHrtners Deaf Services is looking for personable, energetic and dedicated Direct Support Supervisor to join our team in this entry level supervisory role.

Requirements

Education/Experience:
  • High School Diploma or G.E.D required, Associate Degree in a health related area; or two years' experience in a health related field preferred
  • One year of experience working with individuals with developmental and intellectual disabilities
Other Requirements:
  • Flexible schedule and availability to provide on-call coverage as needed
  • Provide CPR after certification
  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
Required Licenses/Certifications
  • Valid driver's license
  • CPR, first aid, NCI and/or MedTech certification, a plus
Responsibilities:
  • Manages 1 - 3 residential homes as assigned
  • Supervises and coordinates activities of Direct Support Employees
  • Works assigned time in the residential homes
  • Resolve employee issues and conduct performance reviews
  • Ensure employees meet training requirements and attend required events
  • Provide After-Hours and On-Call coverage for assigned homes Monday - Friday and is part of the direct care weekend rotation
  • Monitoring and providing feedback to employees in interactions and relationships with the people supported
  • Ensures that people supported have a clean and maintained home and yard.
  • Responsible for helping to implement services and supports that will assist the people we support achieve personal goals and desired outcomes as identified through an Individual Support Plan.
  • Carry out the responsibilities of a Direct Support Professional

Supervisory Responsibilities
  • Responsible for direct supervision of two or more employees. Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws. Responsibilities include interviewing, recommendations for hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; reviewing performance; rewarding, motivating, and promoting team performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Pre-employment screening:
  • Complete criminal background
  • Name checked in the registries. (OIG exclusions database, Child Abuse Registry, and Offenders Against Individuals with Developmental Disabilities)
  • Drug testing
  • Education verification and other credentialing based on position requirements.
  • Proof of employment history or references (if required)
  • Positions that require driving Proof of driver's license, driver's insurance, and vehicle, IF required for providing transportation for individuals.
