The Buyer is responsible for managing tactical and operational issues such as demand forecasting to suppliers, materials sourcing, inventory controls, and environmental policies. The Buyer is responsible for all things related to supplier performance and cost of acquisition for purchased components.
Responsibilities
Manage supplier demand planning models to ensure effective inventory replenishment and stocking levels, including VMI.
Maintain purchase order issuing and scheduling.
Coordinate supplier returns, interface with accounting on invoice discrepancies.
Interface interdepartmentally regarding material status and coordinate production planning issues on material availability for production.
Maintain delivery dates for any material in transit or late delivery.
Ensure that the supply base operates in full compliance with current policies and procedures meeting the terms and conditions.
Carry out periodic reviews with suppliers to ensure that they satisfy the ongoing requirements and that the company is contractually protected from predictable problems.
Use data analysis to drive continuous improvement and deliver savings to the business.
Other duties as deemed required.
Education & Experience Requirement(s)
High School Diploma or equivalent required (Bachelor’s degree in related field – preferred).
Excellent English written and verbal communication skills required.
Minimum of 4 years of experience with Purchasing.
Experience with JDE (preferred).
Experience with Excel (preferred).
Additional Information
7:00 am to 5:00 pm Monday through Friday (some nights and weekends may be required).
