About the Team Partner and collaborate across department, function, and/or asset class to drive architecture, design, and development. Own various aspects of governance, development life cycle standards, versioning/controls, and enterprise architecture. As part of the technology division, the department finds new solutions to existing problems, or for new challenges. The group will be responsible for code reviews, reviewing architecture solutions and recommending them. Partner with other technology teams. Position Overview This role offers a unique opportunity to learn and contribute to the technology and the business through technology. Essential activities: Analyze and document business requirements and convert those into lower level technical design Assist in preparing and maintaining user documentation. Evaluate and advise on development standards, tools, and coding languages. Design/troubleshoot and integration of various systems on the low level of Software/Application. Participate in the analysis and implementation of suggested technical/architecture solutions with various departments Refactor existing designs to recommend optimal implementations Work on projects related to automation, reducing risk for the business and technology partners through governance implementations Advise and recommend IT strategies, solutions, processes, and methods in support of the Enterprise Standards working closely with the Enterprise Architects and Data Architects Support various development efforts Technical skills: Integration, Technical Analysis, design Developing applications Development Methodologies Testing and Automation SQL/Query writing Snowflake (or some equivalent datastore tool) SQL Server, Oracle, or equivalent experience Development SLDC/programming experience CI/CD Process Flow Analysis Sequence diagrams JIRA and Confluence Bitbucket and other version control tools Knowledge of PowerBI, Tableau Exposure to Python or similar coding languages Data skills: Data modeling Data Analysis ETL (Extract Transform Load) exposure Financial and investment knowledge is recommended but candidates in other industries are also encouraged to apply Understanding of multi-asset products is desirable Comprehensions of risk, return, and cost metrics in the industry is desirable Exposure to the investment management life cycle is desirable The ideal candidate: 3 years experience in architecture, development, analytics, or related fields Bachelor's degree or advanced degree in computer science, finance, quantitative finance, investment, or related field Ability to take various questions gathered from the business leveraging existing data as well as improving upon that data to deliver complete, consistent, and precise answers Experience in working with/understanding/implementing the various life cycles of application development, data management, extraction, loading, transformation to its applications in analysis, research, and solving problems Extensive knowledge in Snowflake, Oracle, SQL Server, composing queries, data modeling and analytics background Experience in identifying use cases for the business, contributing to analysis and understanding of existing data models with iterative recommendations on improvement resulting in some improvement in risk, return or cost for the organization Extensive knowledge of data extraction, transformation, and loading Experience refactoring SQL queries, use of Python Experience analyzing technical architecture and providing recommendations.
