Job Description

The Associate Director serves as a lead worker and provides work direction, mentoring and leadership on behalf of the Director of OneStop and Advising to professional staff within Enrollment Services, with a primary focus on supporting OneStop Navigators. The Associate Director is responsible for promoting a culture that supports diversity, equity and inclusion in all forms at Hennepin Technical College and within Enrollment Services. This key Enrollment Services position acts as the lead for supporting students (new & existing) and OneStop Navigators with complex issues regarding enrollment and general student needs. The primary function of the Associate Director will be to coordinate, facilitate, and provide training to Enrollment Services, with a focus on OneStop Navigators to promote a high level of engagement over the phone (call center), chat, email, and face-to-face inquiries (OneStop Center/s & Front Desk operations). Additional responsibilities include CRM/Salesforce expertise and implementation/support leadership, interpretation and compliance of various academic policies and federal/state regulations; ensuring timely, accurate, and personalized updates and information is communicated to students through various communication methods; as well as gather and analyze appropriate data to continuously improve efforts to the Enrollment Services functions. The Associate Director will partner closely with the Director of Admissions, Director of Financial Aid, the Registrar and the Assistant Director of Testing to provide leadership within the Enrollment Services department and support strong internal communication.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Two (2) years of experience in an Enrollment Management area including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration and Records, Advising, Student Life, Diversity or a related customer service field
  • One (1) year of experience leading staff or coordinating work projects
  • Experience working with students from diverse and traditionally underserved backgrounds and with varied needs
  • Demonstrated computer and related technology skills, including web-based resources, chat platform, social media
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks and responsibilities in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to interpret institutional, state and federal policies and regulations and translate them into advising procedures and processes
Preferred Qualification
  • Three (3) years of experience in an Enrollment Management area including Admissions, Financial Aid, Registration and Records, Advising, Student Life, Diversity or a related customer service field
  • Two (2) years of experience leading staff or coordinating work projects
  • Knowledge and/or experience with a CRM (Salesforce preferred), implementation, training and support experience preferred
  • Knowledge of FERPA, MN Data practices, MN Department of Higher Education, and/or PSEO regulations
  • Proficiency in a second language, particularly in Hmong, Karen, Spanish, Somali, Oromo or Vietnamese
  • Prior Call Center experience, both agent support and previous direct student support.
