*Position Overview:*

The Occupational Therapist - Sensory Integration Specialist will provide specialized therapeutic services to adults with sensory processing challenges. This role requires a compassionate and skilled professional who can assess, plan, and implement individualized treatment plans. The ideal candidate will work collaboratively with families, caregivers, and a multidisciplinary team to support clients in achieving their goals.

*Key Responsibilities*

*Assessment and Evaluation:*
* Conduct comprehensive assessments to identify sensory integration and processing issues.
* Use standardized tests and clinical observations to evaluate clients’ sensory and motor skills.
* Develop detailed assessment reports and individualized treatment plans.

*Treatment Planning and Implementation:*
* Design and implement evidence-based sensory integration therapy programs tailored to each client's needs.
* Utilize various therapeutic techniques and tools to improve sensory processing, motor skills, and functional abilities.
* Monitor and document clients’ progress, adjusting treatment plans as necessary.

*Collaboration and Consultation:*
* Work closely with families and caregivers to provide education and support on sensory integration strategies.
* Collaborate with other healthcare professionals, including physical therapists, speech therapists, and psychologists, to ensure holistic care.
* Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings to discuss client progress and treatment strategies.

*Education and Advocacy:*
* Provide training and workshops for parents, teachers, and community members on sensory integration and its impact on daily life.
* Advocate for clients’ needs within the community and educational settings.
* Stay updated on current research and best practices in sensory integration therapy.

*Documentation and Compliance:*
* Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with regulatory and clinic standards.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, and ethical standards.
* Participate in quality improvement initiatives and contribute to the development of best practices.

*Qualifications:*
* Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution.
* Current licensure as an Occupational Therapist (OTR/L) in the state of California.
* Certification in Sensory Integration (SIPT), preferred.
* 2+ years of experience in occupational therapy, with a focus on sensory integration.
* Strong clinical skills in assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of sensory processing disorders.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and collaborate with a multidisciplinary team.
* Commitment to providing culturally competent care and addressing health disparities.
* Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical standards.
