A top-tier employee-owned consulting firm is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Principal Environmental Compliance Specialist to join the team in Seattle. As a leading authority in environmental compliance, you will play a pivotal role in ensuring this company's adherence to environmental regulations and standards. You will lead efforts to assess, develop, implement, and monitor environmental compliance programs and initiatives across all facets of our operations.
Responsibilities:
Develop and maintain comprehensive environmental compliance programs in alignment with local, state, federal, and international regulations.
Conduct regular audits and assessments to identify areas of non-compliance and develop corrective action plans.
Provide expert guidance and support to internal teams to ensure understanding and compliance with environmental regulations.
Stay abreast of emerging environmental laws and regulations and assess their impact on company operations.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate environmental considerations into business strategies and operations.
Serve as the primary point of contact for regulatory agencies and oversee all interactions and communications related to environmental compliance.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, or related field (Master's degree preferred).
Minimum of 12 years of experience in environmental compliance, with a proven track record of leading successful compliance initiatives.
In-depth knowledge of environmental regulations and standards, including but not limited to, air quality, water quality, hazardous waste management, and sustainability.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex regulatory requirements and develop effective compliance strategies.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively communicate complex technical information to diverse stakeholders.
Experience managing regulatory inspections, audits, and enforcement actions.
