FUNCTION: The Deposit Operations Specialist is a shared (floating) role within the Deposit Operations department. This position will generally begin by cross training within two teams. With growth and development over time, there is an opportunity for this individual to be cross trained on additional teams/functions within Deposit Operations as the need arises.

The Deposit Operations Specialist will assist with high-volume tasks and functions and also help teams during times of staff turnover and/or high levels of PTO (paid time off). The Deposit Operations Specialist will need to be flexible and adaptable as their areas of focus/work assignments may shift frequently, and rapidly.

The Deposit Operations Specialist should demonstrate or develop a high-level of proficiency with the banks core banking system (Jack Henry SilverLake). The Deposit Operations Specialist performs account maintenance and reviews an array of critical, customer impacting and regulatory required items associated with deposit products including but not limited to Checking Accounts, Savings Accounts, CDs, IRAs, and Debit Cards, Wires, ACH and Online Banking.

This is a full-time career opportunity based in Bangor, Maine that provides both remote and on-site work options with a required minimum of three days a week in the office. The hybrid (remote/on-site) work option is available upon successful completion of initial training (approx. 90 days).

Key Accountabilities:

+ Learns tasks for assigned teams within Deposit Operations as deemed appropriate by managers and supervisors to provide intra-departmental support as needed.

+ Provides superior customer service by responding to high volume telephone and/or email inquiries, requests and issues and proactively addressing internal customer inquiries/concerns. Researches and resolves problems and errors by taking ownership and following through to resolution.

+ Acts as point of contact when appropriate for any inquiries, maintenance requests, or concerns on core deposit products coming from internal departments included but not limited to Retail Banking, Bangor Support, and Treasury and Payment Services.

+ Maintains and continually grows knowledge of financial industry regulations, compliance requirements, and bank policy and procedure applicable to tasks learned for each team.

+ Performs special project duties as assigned by Deposit Operations leadership.

+ Demonstrates ability to handle routine service issues independently, consults with appropriate staff for advanced problem resolution

+ Maintains a level of knowledge in all or nearly all functional areas of Deposit Operations in order to be able to assist where needed on short notice or during a period of unexpected tumult.

+ Works closely with department leadership team and staff to ensure that written departmental procedures are current, up to date and compliant.

+ Proactively looks for and communicates opportunities for process improvements within the department, or the bank which lead to efficiency, better customer service, or risk reduction.

+ Communicates any pertinent information to supervisors, team members, and internal customers to ensure timely resolution of all problems and customer service situations.

+ Routinely shifts area of focus based on the needs of the department and/or bank. Able to be flexible and adaptable at all times.
