Responsibilities:We are hiring a caring Medical Assistant to partner with a Provider to bring primary-care services to patients who need and deserve access to personalized care at home.
What We Need
HarmonyCares is one of the nations largest home-based primary care practices. We bring the doctors office to you.
We are looking to add a Medical Assistant for a full-time Monday-Friday opportunity with us. This MA role will perform home-based visits along with a Provider (Physician or NP). As a Medical Assistant in the home care setting, you will provide direct patient care to adult patients who need access to care at home. Home is where a whole person is treated with integrated, personalized and coordinated care.
As a Medical Assistant (MA) for HarmonyCares you will:
- Drive both you and a Provider partner to make scheduled home-based primary care patient visits across a designated geographic territory.
- Prepare adult patients for examination and treatment.
- Check and record patient vitals.
- Thoroughly document patient symptoms and treatment plans into our EMR.
- Collect any patient consent forms.
- Support your Provider partner with any patient care needs.
- Help set the standard for what quality, person-centered care, looks like at home.
This Medical Assistant Role Requires:
- A reliable direct patient caregiver who is described as compassionate, positive, skilled, and an effective communicator/listener.
- Certificate of Completion from an accredited Medical Assistant, Phlebotomy, EMT, related medical education/training program OR one year or more of experience serving as a Medical Assistant, Medical Technician, Clinical Assistant or Phlebotomist.
- Applicants that do not meet the requirement above can be hired into our Clinical Assistant role.
- Proficiency and comfort in doing blood draws, wound care, irrigations, checking patient vital signs. Youll have the equipment you need right in your backpack/car.
- A valid drivers license, good driving record, proof of insurance, and reliable mode of transportation.
- CPR certification, or willingness to be CPR certified before your first day.
- Good computer skills to document in our EMR system.
- High School Diploma or GED.
You may hit the ground running if:
- Previous direct patient care experience with an aging adult population.
- Previous experience documenting in a EMR.
- Medical Assistant, EMT or Phlebotomist certification.
