Hartford HealthCare Medical Group is one of the largest medical practices in New England with multiple locations throughout Connecticut and Rhode Island. We consist of a team of professionals ranging from Medical Assistants to Physician Assistants and everything in between. Our physician led medical group enjoys an excellent reputation with patients and the medical community, offering primary care, urgent care and more than 30 different specialties.
Job Description
Authorization Coordinators are responsible for obtaining authorizations on all testing appointments. Also responsible for obtaining Insurance Referrals. They are to check the schedules weekly to make sure no new appointments have been added. They contact outside referring offices for authorization information on testing appointments. They obtain authorizations onside referrals as well, example is CTA, CT, MRI, any outside scans.
- Registers Patients if needed
- Collaborates and communicates with Cardiology teams to ensure continuity of medical care, to include obtaining, clarifying, validating referral requests.
- Responds to all requests (email, website, phone, other) and inquiries to best coordinate a patients appointment and needs.
- Contacts patients, families, medical providers and/or facilities to foster smooth transitions of care into the Practice.
Qualifications
Education:
- High School Diploma or higher
Experience:
- Minimum of 1 year as a medical receptionist or previous care coordination experience
