General Overview: The Human Resource Specialist will partner with an HR Leader within various functional areas of human resources to develop a career with a solid foundation in recruiting, benefits, payroll, employee relations, project management, and human capital analytics.

Responsibilities:

Recruiting
  • Learn all functionality of ATS, able to operate within ATS at intermediate level, and comprehend data analytics from ATS.
  • Successfully manage full recruiting lifecycle including job intakes, opening job requisitions, sourcing, interviewing, managing candidate pipeline, negotiating offers, completing pre-employment screens, collaborating with hiring manager, and coordinating onboarding process.
  • Builds and maintains strong relationships with hiring managers and stakeholders to secure the most qualified talent for the company.
  • Ability to meet recruiting metrics identified by Recruiting leader to ensure HR Specialist has achieved competence in recruiting rotation.
Benefits
  • Assists with the administration of employee benefits by directing employees to the correct personnel or vendor contact for health, dental, life, disability, LOA administration and other insurance carriers or insurance brokers.
  • Demonstrate basic knowledge of all company offered benefits to answer general employee inquiries and direct employees on how to handle qualifying life events.
  • Will complete one open enrollment and coordinate the completion of dependent verifications.
Payroll
  • Understand the payroll checklist process and complete three (3) months of successful payroll closes with minimal errors.
  • Ensure assigned plants meet the payroll cutoff time with no additional edits after submission.
  • Able to properly read and understand a pay stub and answer employee concerns.
  • Ensures court ordered documents and verification of employment requests are timely submitted to Payroll team for entry into employee's records.
  • Correctly enters and processes one-time payments, as necessary.
Employee Relations
  • Understand the importance of organizational management and data integrity in HR system.
  • Demonstrates thorough knowledge of progressive discipline policy and process to complete corrective actions and non-complex performance improvement plans with employees.
  • Must demonstrate a working knowledge of the Employee Handbook, all HR policies, and applicable federal, state, and local regulations to ensure compliance.
  • Understands how to help the business achieve goals while limiting risk.
  • Assist with performance evaluation planning and implementation.
  • Must complete one assigned investigation at the direction of an HR Leader.
Human Capital Analytics
  • Demonstrate ability to understand business objectives to identify the correct report needed to analyze data.
  • Demonstrate ability analyze the quality and integrity of the data and correct if necessary.
  • Demonstrate ability to identify outliers, variables, minimum, maximums, and averages in data.
  • Will create a presentation that includes analyzed data and explaining the findings that impact the businesses objectives.
Project Management
  • Lead an HR project from start to finish at the direction of an HR Leader.
  • Conduct a presentation for stakeholders that includes business case for project, objectives, impact to the business.
Required Education, Experience, and Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in HR Management, Organization Behavior, I/O Psychology, or related field; will consider students in senior year.
  • Strong career interest in Human Resources.
  • Completion of HR Internship program required.
  • Familiar with leading HR projects or working as part of a HR project team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated ability for critical thinking and relationship management.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to lift fifteen (15) pounds at times.
