Position Summary: The Senior Automation Specialist, Instrumentation & Controls, will be responsible for the maintenance, optimization, and integration of automation systems, with a particular focus on Siemens Building Management Systems (BMS). This role ensures the seamless functionality of these systems, troubleshooting issues, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance operational efficiency and building performance. Major Duties and Responsibilities: System Management and Optimization: Maintain and optimize Siemens Building Management System.

Develop and implement strategies for system enhancements and upgrades to improve performance and reliability.

Project Management: Assist in managing automation projects from concept through completion, ensuring timely and budget-conscious delivery.

Coordinate with internal teams and external vendors to ensure successful project execution.

System Integration: Integrate Siemens BMS with other building management systems and enterprise applications.

Ensure compatibility and interoperability between various systems and components.

Maintenance and Support: Establish and adhere to maintenance schedules for automation systems to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.

Provide technical support for troubleshooting and resolving system issues, including on-call support as needed.

Team Collaboration: Work closely with a team of automation technicians, providing guidance and support as needed.

Collaborate with team members to ensure 24/7 support and maintenance coverage for site operations.

GxP and Non-GxP Operations: Ensure automation systems support both GxP and Non-GxP operations, including office spaces.

Maintain compliance with regulatory requirements and standards relevant to GxP environments.

Sustainability Improvements: Identify and implement sustainability initiatives to improve energy efficiency and reduce environmental impact.

Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to promote sustainable practices.

Continuous Improvement: Analyze system performance data to identify opportunities for improvement and implement enhancements.

Lead initiatives to optimize energy efficiency, reduce operational costs, and improve system reliability.

Training and Development: Participate in training programs for staff on the operation and maintenance of Siemens BMS and Allen Bradley systems.

Stay current with advancements in automation technologies and share knowledge with team members.

Vendor Management: Assist in managing relationships with suppliers and vendors, including negotiating contracts and service agreements.

Evaluate new technologies and products from vendors to determine their potential benefits for the organization.

Documentation and Reporting: Maintain detailed documentation of system designs, configurations, and maintenance activities.

Prepare and present reports on system performance, project progress, and improvement initiatives to management.

Other Responsibilities: Exhibit excellent written and verbal communication skills to interact effectively with team members, management, and external stakeholders.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure seamless operation and integration of automation systems across different site areas.

Utilize specialized software for automation system monitoring, diagnostics, and optimization.

Ensure compliance with Change Controls, Deviations, and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).

Review design and construction documents for new site projects to ensure alignment with existing automation systems and standards.

Education: High School + 5 years field Experience

Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in automation engineering, with a strong background in Siemens Desigo CC Control System.

Experience integrating different building automation protocols.

Proven experience in managing and delivering complex automation projects.

Special Skills/Abilities: Technical Knowledge:

Pharmaceutical systems, industrial utilities, process equipment, refrigeration equipment, GxP, HVAC, general construction practices, maintenance software, building management systems.

Language Skills:

Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as financial reports, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, procedure manuals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Ability to respond to common inquiries or complaints from customers, regulatory agencies, or members of the business community. Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure policies. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, and customers.

Mathematical Skills:

Ability to apply advanced mathematical concepts such as exponents, logarithms, and quadratic equations. Ability to apply mathematical operations to such tasks as frequency distribution, determination of test reliability and validity, analysis of variance, correlation techniques, sampling theory, and factor analysis.

Reasoning Ability:
