What You'll Do

Ohio Department of Public Safety - BMV Field Services District 2

Report in location: 980 Liberty Drive, Suite 400, Lancaster Ohio 43130

Work Days and hours would vary between Monday - Friday 7:00 am - 5:00 pm depending on student's schedule.

This is a ongoing internship located in Lancaster, OH. The selected candidate will ideally be able to work throughout the school year and summer, for an average of 20 hours per week or less (with flexibility during the school semesters given class schedule and course load).

The pay rate for a college intern is based upon the students' academic status:

Undergraduate student rate of pay - $16.93 per hour

Graduate student rate of pay - $20.59 per hour

  • Public Affairs
  • Political Science
  • Organizational Management
  • Public Safety Management
Job duties include, but are not limited to:
  • General office duties such as operating a fax/copy/scan machine.
  • Distributing materials and compiling information to assist in preparation of reports
  • Assist Deputy Registrar agencies on the required procedures surrounding new hires
  • Record meeting minutes.
  • Prepare training rooms for meetings.
  • Perform other duties assigned by the supervisor.

Ohio Public Employees Retirement System

Qualifications
Employment Requirements (all must be verified upon hire)
To be eligible for an internship opportunity at the Ohio Department of Public Safety, an applicant must:
  • Be currently enrolled in an accredited college/university.
  • Be in good standing with the college/university.
  • Have a minimum grade point average of 2.0.
  • Be enrolled in at least one course.
  • Be pursuing a degree or finishing a degree.
