South Central Power Company is offering a paid internship with our fiber division, connectSCP.

This position will prepare college students for entry into a business and project management setting by providing opportunities to learn more about the field. Responsibilities will include assisting engineering and broadband teams on projects that involve researching, preparing, editing, and maintaining company procedures and schedules, specifications, support procurement process, contribute to the development of construction budgets, continuous improvement projects and participate in various meetings reviewing plans and procedures pertaining to fiber construction.

The intern will have the opportunity to job shadow a variety of tasks and procedures in which they will learn valuable information. Candidates must be self-motivated with excellent communication skills and have a desire to further develop their knowledge of this field. Experience utilizing a computer and attention to detail is a must.

Students enrolled in coursework pertaining to business administration management, project management or other related discipline are encouraged to apply. This internship is expected to last a period of three to six months. A schedule will be determined based on the qualified candidate’s needs.
