Basic Purpose and Scope:

The HR Generalist I is responsible for performing HR-related duties on a professional level and works closely with other members of the HR team and partners with the manufacturing team for the overall mission of the organization. This position carries out responsibilities in the following functional areas; onboarding, full-cycle recruitment and employment law compliance.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
  1. Leads all recruitment efforts for all hourly positions including pre-screen all applicants in HRIS system and phone screen selected candidates, schedule interviews and conduct in person interviews - 40%
  2. Proactively adjust and use various creative hiring methods and strategies to seek out candidates and ensure hiring goals are achieved - 15%
  3. Complete all hourly offers and new hire paperwork with candidates - 10%
  4. Prepare and deliver new hire and benefit orientation and new hire; 401(k), medical/dental/prescription plan, ESOP overview, vacation/sick plan, voluntary plans available and other benefits offered, including verifying I-9 and E-Verify - 10%
  5. Partner with leaders to help identify hiring needs and provide expertise in hiring and talent planning - 10%
  6. Collaborate with staffing agencies to fill temporary positions - 10%
  7. Prepare, monitor and amend onboarding schedules for all newly hired employees - 5%
  8. Responsible for administrative function of human resources for compliance - Ongoing
  9. Maintain new hire EEO data - Ongoing
  10. Assist with Total Rewards compliance audits - Ongoing
  11. Assist with all company events - Ongoing
  12. Works closely with HR Manager and team to cultivate a positive work environment - Ongoing
  13. Ensure compliance with federal, state and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; advising management on needed actions - Ongoing
  14. Answer non-employee relation questions pertaining to HR and respond to requests in a timely manner - Ongoing
  15. Ability to meet attendance requirements - Ongoing

Supervisory Responsibilities:
  1. None
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED TO PERFORM WORK:
  1. Education: Bachelor's degree. Equivalent combination of education and experience may be substituted.
  2. Certifications: PHR or CP and/or SPHR or SCP strongly preferred
  3. Experience: 3 years of HR experience and recruiting, in manufacturing environment a plus
  4. Experienced with ADP, ADP recruitment module and HRIS a plus
  5. Ability to work closely with operations team for overall success of the plant
  6. Must be able to flex schedule as needed for a 24/7 plant operation
  7. Must have a passion and urgency of understanding the success of the business
  8. Ability to meet or exceed strict deadlines
  9. Ability to accurately record and maintain important information and documentation
  10. Must be detailed-oriented, possess a high degree of accuracy and work well under pressure
  11. Sound judgement and critical thinking
  12. Must have strong verbal and written communications skills with ability to express ideas effectively and efficiently in the common language
  13. Ability to establish & maintain effective working relationships with all contacts inside and outside of the company with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
  14. Demonstrated knowledge of employment laws
  15. Ability to multi-task, focus and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
  16. Able to maintain a high level of professionalism and confidential information
