Goodwill Industries of South Florida, Inc. is hiring a Manager of Development Operations to join our team. The Manager of Development Operations will work collaboratively overseeing the day-to-day operations of the Office of Philanthropy and support the administration of our Fundraising Campaign. More closely, this role encompasses both the management of internal operations and office procedures including donor experience and stewardship through the administrative oversight of its upcoming three-year Fundraising Campaign. The position will work in partnership with the Vice President of Philanthropy in the overall planning, organizing, and directing of the entirety of Goodwill South Florida’s fundraising efforts.
Critical to Goodwill’s fundraising success is sustaining an active, engaging, efficient, and effective operation. The Manager of Development Operations serves as an integral position in the framework of Goodwill South Florida’s overall operation. This role will take the lead on several key areas that determine our success, including donor stewardship and recognition strategies, gift entry and archival duties, fundraising projection, analysis, and reporting, et al.
· Campaign Administration: The position will work with the VP on the successful management of the Campaign Executive Committee phase, liaising with internal and external partners on campaign collateral materials, oversight of campaign plan and timetable, and schedule support for the VP with prospective campaign donors.
· Office Management: A primary function of this position is to manage the internal operations of the Office of Philanthropy. This is not an administrative support role, but a position coordinating the entire business and administrative framework for the Office of Philanthropy.
· Gift Services: Responsible for maintaining the Office of Philanthropy’s financial record keeping, and tasks associated. Primary liaison with the Office of Finance ensures all gifts are promptly deposited and recorded accurately within the office’s established policy and procedures.
o Maintain gift records on fundraising software and paper records of contributors and grants. Maintain security and quality controls. Generate queries, reports, exports, and any other collection data as needed.
o Manage vendor contracts.
· Donor Experience: Manage the planning and implementation of an inclusive donor experience program that covers critical tasks connected to gift acknowledgment, stewardship, recognition, and engagement. Work collaboratively with Senior Leadership to ensure Goodwill South Florida’s gift acceptance and stewardship practices follow best practices.
o Establish frameworks, systems, and workflows that provide timely acknowledgment and recognition of gifts, and effectively relay to donors the impact their gifts have made on Goodwill South Florida.
o Work with Marketing and Communications to ensure impact is communicated to donors regularly, and that donors are intentionally connected to the impact of their gifts. This includes donor recognition strategies, giving societies, campaign recognition plans, donor walls, and other recognition tactics that honor both individual donors and corporate and foundation partners.
· Grant Management: The position will have a responsibility to support a robust grant application effort. Will lead the department’s effort to identify all applicable community, corporate, and foundation grant opportunities across Miami-Dade, Broward, and Monroe Counties.
Education and Experience:
Bachelor’s degree required.
Helpful to have some past employment experience in fundraising/philanthropy work and an understanding of a donor’s cultivation, solicitation, and stewardship cycles. Computer literate plus proficiency in fundraising databases and reporting programs (Blackbaud). Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to make presentations is required. Strong English communication skills both oral and written. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a plus.
