Description

Precision BioMEMS is a cutting-edge microelectrical mechanical systems (MEMS) fabrication facility in Addison, Texas, owned by Precision Neuroscience. The facility produces thin-film, biocompatible microelectrode arrays for Precision Neuroscience's brain-computer interface system and offers foundry services to pioneering third-party companies.

As a Precision BioMEMS employee, you will have the opportunity to get involved in all aspects of the microfabrication business-from the commercial production of highly regulated medical devices to trailblazing research & design. You will be joining a small, collaborative team with decades of experience in MEMS and an interest in exploring new processing methods. Precision BioMEMS team members work together to solve complex problems for both Precision Neuroscience and the facility's third-party customers, whose industries range from medical diagnostics to advanced micro mechanical sensing. Most importantly, your work will make a profound difference in the lives of people with disabilities. Precision Neuroscience's products are designed to serve people who have become severely paralyzed as a result of conditions including stroke, spinal cord injury, traumatic brain injury, and ALS. We are seeking an Equipment Engineer that will be servicing and maintaining semiconductor and facilities equipment in and out of a cleanroom environment. This position will suit someone who is detail-oriented with technical, electrical and mechanical aptitude and is looking for a small company that puts people first.

This position will be on-site at our Addison (Texas) foundry, Precision BioMEMS, working with a small, high-performing team. We are unable to consider remote workers, or people who are not currently in the US. We are also unable to offer relocation expenses.

Key Responsibilities

You will:
  • Develop PM procedures for Fab and Facilities equipment.
  • Increase Equipment Uptime, MTBF, and reduce MTTR.
  • Equipment Parts setup/evaluations.
  • Coordinate/Perform Equipment Installations.
  • Perform service and repair of semiconductor processing and facilities equipment
  • Troubleshoot equipment problems
  • Log all work completed on local CMMS
  • Perform upgrades and modifications to equipment as needed
Skills, Knowledge and Expertise
  • AS or BS degree in a technical field (electronics, engineering or other applicable fields) or equivalent military training.
  • Good in English language (verbal and written form)
  • Good knowledge / experience in CAD Software ProENGINEER or AutoCAD is a plus
  • 2-3 years' hands-on experience in maintenance, repair and troubleshooting of semiconductor equipment is a plus, especially in photolithography and/or etch.
  • Mechanical aptitude is required as well as an ability to use appropriate tools
  • Enjoys working cross-functionally in small team settings.
  • Demonstrated history of self-directed work with a strong sense of ownership and accountability.
Physical Requirements:
  • Job duties are often performed in confined areas in a clean room environment and/or in awkward positions.
  • Manual dexterity and ability to lift/carry objects up to 35 pounds is required
  • Will require bending/stooping/crawling/climbing
  • Will require the use of Personal Protection equipment and proper industry and company safety procedures.
  • Will require working with one or more dangerous elements or conditions such as chemicals, electric currents or high voltage, moving mechanical parts, etc
