About the Role:

As an Equipment Mechanic at Barnsco Texas, you’ll dive into a diverse range of tasks that keep our equipment running smoothly and our customers satisfied. From diagnosing and repairing medium and heavy-duty equipment to performing critical road calls and emergency services, no two days will be the same. You'll work directly with our Equipment Service Manager, ensuring every job is done right and every customer is happy.

What You'll Do:

  • Be the Problem Solver: Inspect and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues with forklifts, tractors, trailers, and other machinery.
  • Hands-On Repairs: Remove, clean, repair, reinstall, and adjust vehicle components, including engines and fuel systems.
  • Preventive Maintenance: Perform regular maintenance tasks like oil changes and safety checks to keep our equipment in peak condition.
  • Customer Service: Assist customers with their equipment needs, providing expert advice and timely solutions.
  • Team Player: Help train new employees and communicate effectively with our Equipment Service Manager.
  • Paperwork & Bids: Submit repair bids and complete paperwork efficiently, ensuring all details are accurate and up-to-date.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Skills & Knowledge: Ability to read schematics, troubleshoot with computer assistance, and possess a solid understanding of mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Experience: Minimum of two years of hands-on experience with construction rental or equipment maintenance.
  • Physical Capabilities: Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, use tools effectively, and operate various types of equipment.
  • Education: High School Diploma or GED.
  • Driver’s License: A valid and current driver’s license is required.
