Responsibilities:
Patient Care: Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients across various units, focusing on pediatric cardiac care.
Assessment and Intervention: Conduct thorough assessments, monitor patients' conditions, and implement appropriate interventions.
Collaboration: Work collaboratively with physicians, specialists, and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.
Critical Thinking: Utilize your advanced skills and knowledge to assess complex patient conditions, anticipate potential complications, and initiate appropriate interventions.
Flexibility: Adapt to different unit environments and patient populations, showcasing your versatility as a float pool RN.
Schedule:
Full Time: 36-hour weeks, 3x12 shifts (variable or straight nights).
Weekend Requirements: 6-weekend shifts per 4-week schedule (Fri/Sat for nights, Sat/Sun for days).
Holidays: Must be available to work holidays.
Time Off: 6 days total (must still work 3 shifts in the week).
Scheduling: Self-scheduling for maximum flexibility.
Qualifications:
Required:
Graduation from an accredited nursing program.
Active or pending California RN License (with ETAs for posting if pending).
2+ years of CVPICU/CTICU experience leading up to the assignment.
BLS and PALS certifications.
Experience with ventilators, multiple monitors, and EKG interpretation.
Heart transplant experience.
Additional Information:
Floating: You may be floated to various units except OR, PACU, and ED, including PICU, NICU, medical, surgical, hem/onc, and medical behavioral units.
No First-Time Travelers: This position requires prior travel experience.
Pediatric Experience Required: Only candidates with pediatric experience will be considered for this position.
