We are seeking a dedicated Travel Nurse RN to join our team at Methodist Children's Hospital, specializing in the Pediatric Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit. This role requires a highly skilled professional capable of managing complex patient care in a fast-paced environment.
Unit Information- Number of Beds: 24
- Staffing: Variable based on census and acuity
- Shift Types: Day and Night shifts, variable based on census and acuity
- Patient Ratios: 1:1-3
- Equipment Used: Baxter Medfusion Pumps, Hospira Infusion Pumps
- Electronic Medical Records: Meditech
The ideal candidate will possess:
- Required Certifications: PALS/BLS
- Experience: PCVICU/PICU RN experience is essential
- Skills: Ability to manage ICU assignments with intubated and ventilated patients
It is preferred that candidates have experience in:
- Managing care for PICU patients with congenital heart defects
- Administering care for PICU patients on multiple vasoactive infusions
Responsibilities include performing various procedures such as:
- Placement of chest tubes, central lines, PICC lines, and arterial lines
- Placement of Quinton catheters, paracentesis, and thoracentesis
The successful candidate will demonstrate a positive, helpful, and flexible attitude, contributing to a collaborative team environment.
Additional InformationFloating Areas: NICU, Pediatric Surgical Unit, Pediatric Intermediate Care Unit, Pediatric Hem/Onc Unit
Dress Code: Navy scrubs; no t-shirts, sweatshirts, or hoodies
Unit Guidelines: Comprehensive PCVICU/PICU handbook will be provided
Weekends and On-call: Not applicable
