The Senior Staff Accountant is responsible for advanced functions of the company's general accounting operations, including financial reporting, budgeting, treasury management, and tax compliance to ensure the financial health and integrity of the organization. This role supports the Director of Accounting and a team of accountants and professional staff responsible for daily, monthly, and annual accounting activities, including period close, accounts receivable, accounts payable, cash management, and external audits.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Develop and document business processes and accounting policies to maintain and strengthen internal controls; ensure compliance with GAAP principles.
  • Analyze financial statements and information to ensure accuracy, identify variances, and summarize financial status.
  • Assist with annual audits - investigate and resolve audit findings, account discrepancies, and issues of noncompliance.
  • Treasury management responsibilities, including cash flow projection and reporting, debt management, management of bank services, bank reconciliations, and lines of credit.
  • Provide oversight of tax regulation compliance, tax filings, and the annual tax audit.
  • Support periodic budgeting process and manage budgeting tools and reporting.
  • Oversee intercompany transactions in a multi-company environment to ensure a balance of accuracy, timeliness, and relevance.
  • Support the Director of Accounting in driving efficiencies and continuous improvement, including day to day operations, period close, financial reporting, etc.
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or finance required.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting or finance required.
  • Strong knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP).
  • CPA certification preferred.
  • Experience in tax accounting, treasury management, lease accounting, and/or fixed asset accounting preferred.
  • Experience with integrated ERP Accounting Systems preferred.
