Primary Objective: Plan, direct and manage all areas of Manufacturing in the Cary, NC facility through subordinate management to ensure approved products are manufactured on-schedule and within quality standards and cost objectives. Responsible for the creation and sustainability of Manufacturing Excellence throughout Operations.

Major Areas of Accountability Translates the implications of the strategy on manufacturing, sets direction and develops short- and long-range plans to meet business strategies and goals. Formulate and recommend manufacturing policies and programs that guide the organization in maintaining and improving its competitive position, the profitability of the operation and supports Class A processes. Develop strategic and annual manufacturing plans and establish procedures for maintaining high standards of manufacturing operations to ensure that products conform to customer and company quality standards. Provides leadership to Operations Managers/Supervisors and their subordinate staff for manufacturing planning, staffing and execution. Develops and oversees Manufacturing systems and processes to ensure cost, quality and delivery requirements are met. Coordinate with European Operations Lead to maximize capacity of both manufacturing facilities (Second Plant in Ludenscheid, Germany) Direct and monitor production managers to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing and safety procedures. Act as liaison between department management/subordinate levels, as well as, executive/department manager levels to inform personnel of communications, decisions, policies and all matters that affect their performance and results. Direct and monitor supply chain and planning organization, focused on right part, right time, right price. Manage and direct inventory controls from incoming goods, through the manufacturing process. Deliver both short and long term forecasts based upon SIOP process. Direct and monitor EHS and Facilities Manager to accomplish goals of the manufacturing plan, consistent with established manufacturing, overall building operation and safety procedures. Directs quality standards, process improvement and operational efficiency within Operations by identifying and implementing process improvement opportunities, working with cross-functional leaders. Determines measurements to quantify results and to identify corrective actions needed. Establishes and tracks key operational and quality metrics to ensure control of operations is maintained and ISO standards are consistently applied within the Operations area. Develops processes and methods to identify technical problems before they become crises and works cross functionally to determine appropriate action to solve technical problems Drives Lean Principle across the Manufacturing Value Stream to improve our Operation Excellence (safety, quality, delivery, cycle time, productivity & cost). Ensure resources, floor space and capital requirements are available to effectively and efficiently manufacture and deliver products and projects. Takes action to manage demand peaks and valleys to both meet customer expectations and drive level load scheduling. Establishes annual operating budget and manages against that budget. Monitors performance, directs corrective action and continuous cost improvements for all areas, including labor, expenses, assessments, and capital. Responsible for the on-going management and development of assigned employees. Determines staffing and skill requirements to meet departmental needs, and implements plans to satisfy those requirements. Forecasts staffing levels to ensure proper capacity and mix of personnel skills needed to meet the shipment/revenue plan. Knows and applies the division's quality policy and procedures of ISO 9001 as it relates to area of responsibility and the organization. Follows all standard operating procedures as prescribed and notifies appropriate personnel of any non-conformance. Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications Bachelor’s degree in Business or Engineering, or equivalent; MBA preferred. Minimum 10 years of manufacturing operations experience; plus, minimum 5 years’ experience in supervision. Must have demonstrated ability to drive change and continuous improvement across a broad level/scope. Ability to apply process improvement tools to achieve significant quality, cost, productivity, and cycle time improvement. Ability to build relationships, lead cross-functional teams, and build consensus among a large group. Proven ability to successfully solve complex business and technical problems. Experience in developing BOMs with MRP systems. Working knowledge of manufacturing standards, practices, and regulations. Travel Requirements: Less than 10% Preferred Qualifications
