Job Description:

Position Summary:
The Unapplied Credits Specialist researches and addresses unapplied and unallocated receipts collected from clients. This position effectively communicates with clients, internal and external business partners at all levels throughout the firm. The Unapplied Credits Specialist works under general supervision to plan and accomplish goals.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
- Compile and maintain unidentified cash receipts in spreadsheet
- Design workflows to effectively address unapplied cash balances
- Create transfers, reallocations and apply on account credit funds as directed by staff, billing attorneys or secretaries
- Process approved accounts receivable write -off requests and payment reversals from billing attorneys
- Craft reports for unapplied balances for management to review
- Provide timely follow up to billing attorneys of all unidentified cash receipts
- Liaise effectively with attorneys and vendors to determine the correct allocation of checks
- Monitor cash receipts spreadsheets to reduce and maintain the balance of unidentified client receipts
- Ensure funds are accurately and promptly applied to client accounts by communicating findings to the cash receipts team
- Research and resolve all unapplied cash accounts weekly to general ledger reports
- Assist the credit and collections department with the resolution of client short pays and or duplicate payments
- Assist with daily cash receipts posting and deposits as is necessary

Job Specifications:
- Associate's degree
- At least two (2) years of related work experience
- Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite (Outlook, PowerPoint, and Word)
- Knowledge of simple to complex accounting applications
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work under tight deadlines and prioritize responsibilities
- Ability to handle and maintain confidential information
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Law firm experience preferred
Experience using Aderant is a plus
