Our client, located south of Tampa, Florida, is looking for a Tax Manager to add to their team. This is a direct-hire, hybrid opportunity.

Tax Manager Role:

Oversee the preparation and submission of federal, state, and local sales and use tax returns and audits, ensuring compliance with all tax regulations.

Perform a detailed review of year-end provisions prepared by external advisors and in-house preparation of quarterly provisions (using external tax consulting services).

Prepare quarterly reports and review year-end financial statement tax disclosures in line with US GAAP (ASC 740) for financial reporting purposes (currently done by external tax advisors)

Prepare applicable book to tax adjustments.

Guarantee adherence to appropriate internal controls for income taxes.

Develop a thorough understanding of the Company's operations and actively engage with the Director of Tax Accounting and outsourced vendors to address tax implications of proposed business flow changes. Collaborate closely with external tax advisors to handle corporate income tax accounting throughout the year, including gathering the necessary information.

Serve as a liaison between Management, the Director of Tax Accounting, and accounting staff regarding any tax-related matters.

Foster collaboration with other corporate functions, including internal audit, treasury, finance, licensing, legal, and payroll departments.

Manage the retention of tax records and other mandated reports.

Stay updated on changes to tax laws, revisions, and updates.

Tax Manager Background Profile:

Bachelors Degree (B.S.) in Accounting and CPA required

Masters Degree in Taxation preferred

Minimum 5 years of related experience with at least 2-3 years working in a public accounting firm and/or in a public corporation

Minimum 2 years of managerial experience

Strong experience in ASC 740 and SEC reporting required

Solid understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and Tax regulations

Expert-level ability with MS Excel

Proven track record working with third-party service providers

Experience with ERP systems; Great Plains is preferred
