Transmission Planning Engineer

  • *Roles and Responsibilities:**
  • - Lead network studies for utilities and ISOs.
  • - Interface with engineers to prepare computer-based models.
  • - Conduct various power system studies: feasibility, system impact, reactive compensation, stability, planning, short circuit, load flow, interconnection, and power factor correction.
  • - Engage in proposal writing and customer interactions to develop new opportunities.
  • *Required Education/Experience:**
  • - BSEE degree.
  • - 5+ years in transmission planning system studies.
  • - Must be able to lead system impact studies.
  • - Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • - 3+ years with PSS/E.
  • - Project leadership and mentoring experience.
  • - Familiarity with ERCOT interconnection processes.
  • - Willingness to travel up to 10%.
  • *Desired Education/Experience:**
  • - MSEE or PhD.
  • - 5+ years with PSS/E.
  • - 7-10 years in transmission planning studies.
  • - PE registration or equivalent.
  • - Experience with additional software: PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, Power World.
  • - Coding and automation skills.
