Position Overview:

As a key member of our team at Resiliency, you will take on the role of a Transmission Planning Engineer, responsible for overseeing critical network studies for utilities and Independent System Operators (ISOs).

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead Network Studies: Conduct comprehensive studies that assess the performance and reliability of transmission systems.
  • Collaboration: Work closely with engineering teams to develop and refine computer-based models.
  • Power System Analysis: Execute a variety of power system assessments, including feasibility studies, system impact analyses, reactive compensation evaluations, stability assessments, planning studies, short circuit analyses, load flow evaluations, interconnection studies, and power factor correction tasks.
  • Business Development: Engage in proposal writing and foster customer relationships to identify and cultivate new business opportunities.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (BSEE) is required.
  • Experience: A minimum of 5 years in transmission planning system studies is essential.
  • Leadership: Proven ability to lead system impact studies and mentor junior engineers.
  • Communication Skills: Excellent proficiency in English, both written and verbal.
  • Software Proficiency: At least 3 years of experience with PSS/E is required.
  • Industry Knowledge: Familiarity with ERCOT interconnection processes is preferred.
  • Travel Requirements: Willingness to travel up to 10% of the time.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Advanced Education: A Master of Science in Electrical Engineering (MSEE) or a PhD is desirable.
  • Extensive Experience: 5+ years of experience with PSS/E and 7-10 years in transmission planning studies.
  • Professional Registration: PE registration or equivalent is a plus.
  • Additional Software Skills: Experience with software such as PSLF, TARA, PSCAD, Aspen Oneliner, ETAP, and Power World is advantageous.
  • Coding Skills: Proficiency in coding and automation will be beneficial.
Technical Skills:
  • PSS/E expertise is essential.
