Organization: HealthIT Data Development Job Summary: Provides leadership in vision, roadmap, deliverables for all components of the VUMC Data Lake. Interfaces directly with customers and internal team leaders to evaluate current and future platform features to ensure our data products deliver all the capabilities needed by our internal customers. This includes creating and supporting new processes and features that directly support the the VUMC Data Lake (cloud based data repository), the Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW), and numerous other cloud specific initiatives in the data space. . KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Leads vision, roadmap, and deliverables for data-related products.
  • Translates customer needs into projects on a project roadmap.
  • Provides direction on development, execution and monitoring of product roadmaps.
  • Performs analysis of market for new product and services trends, capabilities and scalability.

TECHNICAL CAPABILITIES
  • Product Knowledge (Advanced): Demonstrates high levels of product knowledge. Is often relied upon by others for knowledge of the product and plays a lead role in projects related to the product. Has some experience in developing/supporting applications specific to the product.
  • Project Coordination (Advanced): Manages interdependencies among multiple related and unrelated projects whose coordinated delivery is required to achieve higher organizational objectives. Identifies opportunities for cross-discipline participation. Develops and documents project policies and procedures. Manages the overall coordination, status reporting, and stability of major project efforts, ensuring that project goals and objectives are met within agreed upon time, scope, and resource requirements. Contributes to the development of Project Coordination best practices for the organization.
  • Product Vendor Management (Advanced): Is relied upon for the development of the most complex consulting, training, software and hardware contracts for the corporation. Develops and monitors vendor performance, relating to duties specific to their service level agreement: average speed of answer, service levels, conversion rates, quality assurance etc. Ensures clarity, accountability, communication and cooperation. Leads the formation of teams to develop the necessary technical specifications. Works with contracts that span various departments or corporate locations. Has been involved in the mediation of contract disputes. Consistently delivers services in a creative and imaginative manner while setting a standard for others.
  • Emerging Technologies (Advanced): Demonstrates high levels of knowledge in new and emerging technologies. Contributes to strategic planning in areas which require expert knowledge and experience. Participates in advanced technology efforts for the company, evaluating and testing new products to determine their value and applicability to the organization. Often takes a lead role in critical situations where there is a need to apply knowledge of technological trends, emerging technology and/or new tools and products. Successfully selects and implements new technology to meet requirements of state-of-the-art systems and projects. Helps set standards and establish procedures relating to new technological products and services. Actively participates in outside professional organizations and forums.
  • IT Portfolio Management (Advanced): Demonstrates the uppermost levels of expertise in applying IT Portfolio Management in challenging and complex situations. Responsible for planning major portfolio additions and determining the retirement of systems. Contributes to the development of IT Portfolio Management best practices for the organization.
