Summary : This is an Entry Level position within the Appraisal Department. Primarily will be responsible for independent appraisal engagement and ordering of appraisals though ValuTrac’s, FirstBank’s Appraisal Software system. The Real Estate Appraisal Specialist will ensure that all appraisal reports conform to FirstBank, industry, and regulatory standards, as well as conducting daily status checks on orders in queue, communicating with appraisers, and handling underwriting stipulations. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Manages ValuTrac’s workflow, assignments, invoicing and follow up. Administer the appraisal selection process and selects appraisers for assignments. Continually monitors engagement, clarifies valuation scope concerns and reviews requests for potential delays. Work with loan officers and others in the field to engage, obtain, and review timely appraisal reports and meet all completion deadlines for optimal customer service. Selects best qualified vendor, based on lowest fee and/or quickest delivery, and reports engagement terms to internal business partners. Upon business partner’s authorization to proceed, promptly engages real estate appraiser. Perform other duties as assigned or requested Adherence to Policies and Procedures Demonstrate effective interpersonal skills necessary to interact positively with both customers and staff members Qualifications Able to work independently or as part of a team Must possess ability to multitask and prioritize; comfortable working on a computer; utilize phones, and copiers; articulate, good written and verbal communication skills. Must have excellent attention to detail and be able to meet deadlines Exceptional Customer Service Skills Knowledge of Excel, Word and Outlook Maintain familiarity with current and new products, programs, guidelines, and requirements. Answer phone calls and emails in a timely manner Education and /or Experience 4-year college degree in Real Estate or Finance (preferred) High School Diploma/GED (required) 1+ years of related experience in real estate and/or lending required.
