Accounting Analyst II

We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Accounting Analyst II to join our finance team. This role is crucial in maintaining the accuracy and efficiency of our accounts receivable and revenue operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting principles, particularly ASC 606 and revenue recognition, and the ability to work independently while managing various tasks and responsibilities.

Job Responsibilities:

  • Analyze Accounts Receivable: Regularly analyze accounts receivable aging reports, investigate inconsistencies or anomalies, prepare detailed status and reconciliation reports, and recommend and implement process improvements.
  • Revenue Management: Manage and reconcile deferred revenue accounts, ensuring accurate recognition and reporting in compliance with accounting standards.
  • Journal Entries: Prepare and process journal entries for accounts receivable and collections, handle bad debt write-offs and account adjustments, and ensure compliance with accounting standards and policies.
  • Collections Strategies: Develop and implement collections strategies to reduce overdue accounts, create credit and collections policies with the Manager of Accounting, monitor and follow up on overdue accounts while negotiating payment plans, and maintain customer relationships to facilitate timely payments.
  • Collaborate and Communicate: Collaborate with the Manager of Accounting to organize revenue-related balance sheet accounts, communicate effectively with customers, sales teams, and other departments to resolve issues, support audits with accurate and complete documentation, and assist in special projects and other assigned duties.
  • Accounting Knowledge: Possess a strong understanding of accounting principles, with specific experience in ASC 606 and revenue recognition.
  • Independence and Initiative: Demonstrated ability to work independently, take initiative, and proactively manage tasks without constant supervision, ensuring efficient and effective completion of responsibilities.
Qualifications:
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in revenue accounting, accounts receivable, collections, or a similar accounting role. Public accounting experience is a plus.
  • Certification: CPA candidate or CPA certification is a plus.
  • Technical Skills: Proficiency in NetSuite is a plus. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices, specifically ASC 606 and revenue recognition.
  • Analytical Skills: Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Communication Skills: Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Multitasking Ability: Ability to multitask and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
