Availability: Must have Weekend Availability Approximate Shift Hours: 4pm - 1am - 2 days a week Pay Range: $16.50 - $17.50 per hour The Embassy Suites Portland Airport features 251 guest suites and 20,000 sq. ft. of meeting space. The hotel is located less than half a mile outside the Portland International Airport, seven miles from downtown Portland, and nine miles from downtown Vancouver. The hotel has convenient access to the light-rail public transportation reaching the suburban areas of metro-Portland. We are looking for highly motivated individuals to join our Front Desk team. The ideal candidate uses their engaging personality to create a memorable first impression for our guests. While checking in and registering guests, the Front Desk Agent is a source of knowledge for the guest about everything concerning the hotel, its amenities, and the local area. This role plays an important part in our culture: Service: Provide exceptional customer service by being engaging and taking sincere interest. Check guests in, ensuring proper credit is received, special requests are noted and fulfilled, and accurate information is established. Assist guests with sending and receiving faxes, packages, and mail. Perseverance: Help to resolve problems through recovery when things aren't quite right. Teamwork: As needed, fulfill all job responsibilities expected of Shuttle Driver and Concierge Attendant. Interact with hotel/resort staff in a professional manner, assisting other departments with necessary information. What do we need from you to be successful in this role? High school diploma or equivalent. Customer service is our top priority; being on our team means you have a strong desire to make an impact on other people. This role interacts with guests and team members all day; excellent verbal and written communication skills and an outgoing, engaging personality are necessary. The hotel operates off a Property Management System; the front desk agents work in that system all day long, so the ability to pick up computer skills easily is necessary. The front desk role is at the center of attention for all hotel guests and requires someone to be able to stand for the duration of the shift. Flexibility with respect to working days, early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays is required.
