Morrison Foerster LLP, an Am Law 50 law firm with 18 offices worldwide, has an opening for an Human Resources Operations Specialist within our Human Resources Group in our San Francisco office.The Opportunity Guided by department objectives and priorities and under general supervision, processes and audits HR System job changes for employees, partners, and contingent workers.Services the firm's HR Hotline via phone and email. Responds to all employment verification, subpoena, and HR file requests from internal and external clients. Responds to ad hoc report requests.Performs various administrative tasks, supports various HR projects, manages employee, partner and client requests, and administers HR Policies and Procedures.Ensures internal client services and satisfaction are attained in all areas of position.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSHR Operations Processing SupportReview and approve HR Operations transactions and job changes related to employee lifecycle. Manage and maintain employee electronic records. Strong attention to detail.Perform audit and compliance to ensure consistent and accurate data. Manage updates and data corrections.Act as tier 1 support for HR Department.Work with HR System Analysts to identify data processing issues, and when needed, provide users with tips regarding their transaction processing.Work with HR Systems Analysts to support HR systems projects, including system upgrades, new functionality, new/revised business processes, etc.Assist with testing, training, documentation, and auditing tasks, as needed.Provide training, demonstrations and documentation to business stakeholders.Manage HR Hotline and shared HR email box, per rotation schedule.Process responses to employment verification requests, affidavits, subpoenas, and FBI requests for HR file reviews as required.Respond to Ad Hoc requests based on the established service standard and ensure that the report request is based on sound business need, information is accurate, and meets the needs of the requestor.Ensure compliance with data confidentiality policies and US and global data privacy laws (GDPR, CCPA, etc.) by verifying that the requestor has access rights to the requested data and confirming with the firm's Privacy & Data Security Analyst when needed.Support electronic Form I-9 process to meet compliance requirements and manages E-Verify processes.As appropriate conducts training on I-9 Administration for local office administrators and recommends retraining and education programs as needed. Collaborate with Managers and other departments on issue resolutions.Ideal CandidateEducation and ExperienceBachelor's degree preferred or equivalent combination of education and office experience.2 years prior experience with office operations and/or Human Resources Operations preferred.Excel experience with hands-on experience developing and enhancing custom reports.Previous data reporting (generate reports and provide information from data, accounts management, and ticketing application tools) experience highly preferred.Teamwork and Applied SkillsStrong sense of accountability, taking ownership over projects and responsibilities and resolving issues proactively.Ability to take an assignment from inception to completion with minimal supervision or by following broad guidelines.Ability to assess information, anticipates issues and outcomes, and make effective decisions.High level of accuracy and attention to detail.Talent for delivering client service through teamwork.High client service ethic and a proven record in delivering exemplary client satisfaction to external and internal clients.Highly effective communications skills, and ability to communicate credibly and diplomatically with all levels in an organization.Strong proficiency in Excel and ability to create effective spreadsheets.Ability to manage multiple requests, assess priorities, and achieve solutions under deadlines.Strong organizational skills and ability to manage large amounts of electronic data.Flexibility regarding work schedule to meet position needs outside of regular business hours.Ability to work effectively under pressure and to meet deadlines under sometimes competing priorities.Skill to assess issues and needs and to provide responsive solutions.Reliability, dependability, and strong motivation to respond to requests quickly.Strong team player skills and ability to work collaboratively with diverse individuals at all levels of an organization.Who We AreAt Morrison Foerster, our culture is defined by our deeds. Additional compensation may include a discretionary bonus, overtime as applicable, health/welfare benefits, retirement contributions, paid holidays, and PTO. The range displayed is specifically for positions performed in those cities/states and may vary based on factors including but not limited to the following: local market data and ranges; an applicant's skills and prior relevant experience; and certain degrees, licensing, and certifications.California salary range: $72K-$85K
