Duties: Responsible for creating and aligning purchasing strategy to meet the goals of internal customers and global corresponding businesses (Business, Operations, and other functions). Develop and implement procurement strategies for all raw materials, utilities, and catalysts. Manage the procurement process for all raw materials which includes identifying and vetting vendors, conducting bid events and negotiations, preparing new contracts, and resolving commercial issues domestically and also globally where applicable. Establish and implement strategies to improve financial results by reducing cost of materials, improving supply reliability, improving material quality, mitigating risk, and improving the efficiency of procurement processes. Possess a thorough knowledge of Kuraray businesses, stakeholders, and requirements globally. Provide guidance and support for business initiatives and capital programs regarding procurement- and logistics-related issues. Collaborate with Kuraray global purchasing organizations on raw materials that cross regional boundaries. Resolve quality, service, supply, and invoice issues with suppliers. Develop purchasing personnel to meet future staffing requirements within and beyond the purchasing organization in the areas of raw materials, utilities, and catalysts. Presentations to all levels of Kuraray management both domestically and globally on a regular basis. Requires up to 20% domestic and international travel as needed.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree (or equivalent based on combination of education and/or work experience) in supply chain management, operations management, or related field; plus 2 years of experience in job offered or similar occupation. Requires knowledge of SAP, ISO, and IATF; and experience with Kuraray's PVB film products, including raw material sourcing, contract negotiation, vendor management, global markets, and pricing indexes.
