We have partnered with a Fortune 500 chemical manufacturing business located within Galveston County. The Procurement Specialist role is chartered to deliver positive results to the business and its' stakeholders by: evaluating the supply base to select suppliers to achieve lowest total cost of ownership; administer contracts that eliminate potential risks & liabilities to the Company; meeting internal customer requirements by providing the right material/service at the right time to facilitate plant safety & reliability. Responsibilities Deputize for Procurement Manager when necessary Commercial management of key Site agreements. Network with the global procurement organization and other business units to maximize volume leverage. Ensure that security of supply for goods and services are maintained safely, to the correct technical specification and on schedule to meet operational requirements. Provide expert advice on procurement related risks, including in depth market knowledge both commercial and technical to all procurement customers. Lead negotiations with suppliers to secure best commercial terms for the business. Identify and recommend new suppliers to the businesses that can offer a commercial or technical advantage to mitigate project or asset schedule risks. Requirements Level of Education & Knowledge: BS or BA Undergraduate Degree Supply Chain or Business Management Requires a minimum of 10 - 12 years of experience. Experience in positions requiring knowledge of Procurement and Supply Chain. Experience in a petrochemical, refining and/or manufacturing environment in a Technical or Business position is required. Experience with SAP Materials Management Module - requires a minimum of 5-7 years. CSCP (Certified Supply Chain Professional) certification preferred.
