Fast forward to today, Steer by Mechanic Advisor has launched a complete Customer Relationship Management (CRM) marketing suite, complete with text messaging, email automation, direct mail integration, reputation management, appointment reminders, declined/recommended services, and many other features. About the Role: Steer is seeking a motivated, scrappy Corporate Accounting Manager to take ownership of the company’s accounting functions and work directly with the CFO. The ideal candidate will be eager to dive in and take responsibility for the daily financial records. This is an incredible opportunity to develop and define our startup’s strategic processes for the Accounting Department. You Are Detail oriented and can leverage software/tools to streamline a traditionally manual process. Team oriented and understand the importance of GAAP as the base for decision making across many other functions in the business. Able to work closely with finance to bridge past and present to present and future. You Will Take responsibility for the company’s general ledger. Manage all accounting operations including Billing, A/R, A/P, GL, Cost Accounting, and Revenue Recognition. Ensure quality control over financial transactions and financial reporting by implementing and maintaining appropriate internal control systems. Make incremental improvements to process and procedure. Own monthly, quarterly and annual accounting close processes. Work with the team leads to control and report on planned vs. actual budget/spend. Monitor and report on company cash flow. Manage and comply with local, state, and federal government reporting requirements and tax filings. Implement and maintain financial systems and software to streamline financial operations and reporting. Improve accounting strategy for current and planned business units to align with finance, product and marketing teams. Prepare for our first annual audit and communicate with outside auditors on insights and material changes.
