Job Description:

The Alpharetta, GA office is seeking an engineer with a background in hydraulics or water resources for a Staff Engineer level position to support our growing business. We are looking for a motivated candidate with attention to detail, a passion to continue to develop as a professional, and a desire to be part of a strong team.

Job Responsibilities:
  • Apply professional principles, complex numerical models, and innovative solutions to real-world problems as part of a team of engineers and scientists while under the supervision of senior engineering personnel
  • Assist in the preparation of CAD drawings for contract documents and reports with input and guidance from senior engineers in accordance with internal drafting procedures and guidelines
  • Perform hydrologic and hydraulic analyses
  • Collect data and measurements in the field
  • Perform design calculations for hydraulic structures including spillways, dam outlet works, diversion and check structures, measurement flumes, and other various raw water infrastructure
  • Ability to travel and work in the field is required
Required Skills/Experience:
  • A Bachelor's Degree or higher in Civil Engineering (or related) from an ABET accredited program with an emphasis in Hydraulics, Hydrology, or Water Resources
  • 0-3 years of related professional experience
  • Successful completion of the Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) Exam/Engineer-in-Training (EIT) Certification, or ability to obtain EIT Certification within 6 months of hire.
  • Familiarity with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and GIS software is a plus, but not required. These programs are used extensively, so a willingness to learn them is a must.
  • Must possess excellent interpersonal, oral and written communication skills.
  • Positive attitude and self-motivation to grow professionally.
Preferred Skills/Experience:
  • Familiarity with HEC-HMS, HEC-RAS, and GIS software
Other Requirements:
  • Ability to pass a background check which may include criminal history, motor vehicle record and credit check
  • Ability to pass a pre-employment screening
