Why are we here?

In 2012, we saw that forward-thinking enterprises and service providers were becoming concerned about their ongoing reliance on legacy network hardware and complex, static WAN architectures that prohibited their organizations from digitizing their business and embracing the cloud.

We saw the need to converge and integrate in the cloud and on-premises security, networking, and analytics within a single software operation system (VOS). This, combined with a single-pass parallel processing architecture, was necessary to decrease latency, increase performance, improve security, reduce complexity, and enhance visibility network-wide.
Job Summary

We are looking for a highly motivated, overachieving, and tech-savvy Business Development Representative.

You'll be tasked with expanding the Versa customer base within the Federal space; using prospecting strategies to identify prospects and initiate the first outreach with potential customers. Your goal is to fill the pipeline for the sales team by booking quality meetings with target prospects that convert into active opportunities.

You'll be responsible for owning and achieving / exceeding a quarterly quota consisting of both inbound and outbound opportunities.
Responsibilities

As a Business Development Rep, you will:
Partner with your account executive to strategize on how to approach target accounts within the Federal space and build meaningful pipeline in your territory
Identify, research and prospect key contacts at government agencies & target accounts in order to build a foundation for a strong long-lasting relationship
Convert inbound leads into active opportunities by providing lightning-fast follow up and an exceptional customer experience
Conduct outbound prospecting using various channels such as cold calling, email, and Linkedin messaging to initiate the first contact and book meetings with ideal prospects
Be an active part of the team sharing best practices and participating in projects to improve our team
Manage, track and report sales activities and results using Salesforce
Master the use of our sales tools tech stack which includes Salesforce, Zoominfo, LeadiQ, Outreach, Orum, 6Sense, and Linkedin Sales Navigator
On occasion, attend and participate in customer-facing events such as trade shows, lunch and learns, and other various in-person settings
Qualifications
Experience in and knowledge of the Federal Government space is crucial
Experience in a sales / customer-facing role primarily targeting Government agencies
Must be physically located in the Washington D.C. / Maryland / Virginia area
Clear track record of overachievement in college or career
Bachelor's degree
Excellent written/verbal communication skills
Strong problem-solving skills
Motivation, drive and self-starting attitude
Extremely coachable
Ability to work in a fast-paced, team environment
Ability to understand customer needs and meet that need with a successful product sale
