Primary Function

The Human Resources Support Specialist will assist the Human Resources department with daily activities and administrative functions. The role includes support for key HR processes such as benefits administration, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, orientation, and performance management. This is a Temp-to-Hire position, with an expected start date in January 2024.

Responsibilities

  • Serve as the first point of contact for HR communication with employees, addressing questions and concerns, and resolving issues in a timely manner.
  • Provide administrative support to the HR department and front desk.
  • Ensure accuracy in payroll and HRIS information.
  • Collaborate with departments to ensure staffing levels are met.
  • Manage job-bidding procedures, including preparing and posting job bids.
  • Prepare and generate reports as required using Excel, Word, and HRIS platforms.
  • Distribute various HR communications and updates to employees.
  • Complete payroll authorizations, data entry, and wage computations.
  • Prepare periodic payroll and HRIS reports.
  • Coordinate and support various employee events and activities.
  • Assist in the scheduling and preparation of new hire orientations.
  • Perform other duties as assigned or directed.

Qualifications

  • Associate degree in business or a related field (Bachelors degree preferred).
  • At least 3 years of relevant HR experience.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and organize workflow based on urgency for efficient processing.
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to convey information clearly and empathetically to employees.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and Outlook, along with familiarity with HRIS platforms.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information appropriately.

Education

  • Associate Degree (Bachelor’s preferred)
