JOB DESCRIPTION:

The opportunity: your role at Driven Brands

The Category Manager: MRO, Capital Equipment, and Facilities will be a member of the Driven Advantage team, the procurement shared services function of Driven Brands. In this role, you will be responsible for executing strategic projects for the Driven Advantage team including, but not limited to, negotiating contracts with vendors for best pricing and terms on products and services, tracking rebates related to supplier contractual obligations, working with our technical/IT team to onboard new suppliers to our central procurement platform (DrivenAdvantage.com), working with stakeholders across brands and departments to redesign processes and improve performance, and managing day-to-day supplier account needs. The role will manage a breadth of Indirect related categories such as: MRO, Uniforms, Facilities, Automotive Equipment, Car Washing Equipment, Signage, Utilities, and Office Supplies.

Your key responsibilities:
  • Growing lasting relationships with internal business partners from various departments including operations, facilities, and construction to understand their unique requirements and needs
  • Developing category strategies and RFP templates in indirect related categories
  • Determining service needs and researching potential suppliers
  • Acting as a liaison and communicating pricing and performance needs to vendors and suppliers
  • Perform spend analysis to establish a detailed view of the current spend segmentation
  • Conducting and managing supplier bidding events including RFP's, etc.
  • Negotiating favorable procurement contracts with selected vendors and suppliers while ensuring business continuity - focusing on pricing and business terms
  • Understanding and documenting business processes and requirements, performing root cause analyses, developing business cases, and gathering information
  • Monitoring and managing project progress and risks, and ensuring key stakeholders are kept informed about progress and expected outcomes
  • Accountable for producing reports to measure results against strategies and goals as well as manage risk including rebate payment tracking
  • Have a strong focus on building a reputation as an authoritative expert in your area by constantly updating your understanding of current business and industry trends
  • Taking full responsibility for tasks including consistent self-review of work to identify and improve an approach for producing high quality deliverables without supervision
  • Constantly considering, sharing, and implementing new ways to improve our processes and collaboration methods
  • Collaborates with and trains financial reporting & analysis (FP&A) team on savings tracking methods based on relevant facts of each contract to ensure objective benefits realization
  • Represents Company and the Supply Chain Function to both clients and the vendor community in a fair, ethical, and professional manner
Minimum Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
  • 5+ years of strategic sourcing/procurement experience, 2+ years of experience managing the MRO category
  • Advanced analytical skills including mastery of Microsoft Excel including knowledge of how to create pivot tables, use flash fill, use mathematical and lookup formulas (VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, INDEX MATCH)
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Proven track record of successful supplier negotiations and contract management
  • Strong research skills including supply market, macroeconomic, and pricing research
  • Vendor management/relationship skills that develop a network in multiple geographic regions and multiple organizational units
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with ability to interact effectively at all levels of the organization
  • Sense of urgency and independent initiative toward accomplishing objectives
  • Ability to rapidly assimilate information and solve complex problems
  • Highly skilled with Microsoft Office products, especially PPT and Word
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience sourcing facilities and CAPEX equipment (especially automotive and car wash equipment)
  • Master's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Economics, or related field
  • Experience with online marketplaces or e-catalog tools such as Mirakl
  • Experience with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (especially Corrigo or MaintainX)
