Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team at HES Facilities. As a key member of our custodial services team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness and organization of our educational facilities.

Responsibilities
  • Floor Care: Sweep, mop, vacuum, scrub, and wax floors to ensure a clean and safe environment.
  • Carpet Maintenance: Machine shampoo carpeting to remove dirt and stains.
  • Interior Cleaning: Clean walls, vents, screens, furniture, drinking fountains, light fixtures, window blinds, brass, and other interior fixtures to maintain a high level of cleanliness.
  • Exterior Cleaning: Wash interior and exterior windows and glass doors to ensure a clear view.
  • Trash and Recycling: Sweep entryways, empty exterior cigarette urns, and empty trashcans immediately outside building entrances.
  • Restroom Maintenance: Clean restrooms, plunger sinks and toilets, and replenish supplies to maintain a clean and hygienic environment.
  • Lighting: Change interior light bulbs that can be reached from the sixth step of a ladder or lower.
  • Work Requests: Complete work requests to notify management of needed repair work.
  • Winter Maintenance: Remove snow and ice and apply salt and/or ice melting products to assigned areas when needed.
  • Custodial Closet Organization: Organize and supply custodial closets as needed.
  • Miscellaneous: Move, remove, and/or set up furniture, furnishings, supplies, equipment, and any other items, inside specified rooms for special functions as directed.
Qualifications
  • Communication Skills: Able to read, write and comprehend at a level appropriate to the duties of the position.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Good interpersonal skills to work effectively with a diverse group of people.
  • Teamwork: Must be able to work with a diverse group of people.
  • Adaptability: Willingness to learn and adapt to new situations.
  • Criminal Background Check: Clear criminal background check.
