We are hiring NEMT Companion Drivers who are responsible for delivering transportation, companionship and assistance services, using a company vehicle, to our clients across the Dallas metropolitan area. The NEMT Companion Driver will accompany wheelchair-bound clients as well as ambulatory clients to medical appointments (kidney dialysis, routine doctor visits, pharmacy or lab stops ...) and social activities for senior living communities (grocery shopping, sports events, fishing ...).

Essential Job Functions

  • Deliver transportation, companionship and assistance services, using a company vehicle, to older adults and patients.
  • Assist the clients in-and-out of the vehicle, and if/as needed, with any personal items they may have. That includes going with the clients inside grocery stores or doctor appointments or staying with them on a social activity like attending a sports event or faith-based event.
  • Deliver all aspects of the service in a safe and responsible manner. That includes operating the vehicle safely and practicing safe moving techniques
  • Assume responsibility for the cleanliness and maintenance of your assigned vehicle
Requirements
  • Minimum 3 years of driving experience with Multi-person Van / Shuttle Bus
  • Minimum 23-years of age
  • Prior experience as a Caregiver, EMT, Nurse or NEMT Driver is preferred
  • Possess a valid Texas driver's license and clean driving record
  • Pass a criminal background check, a DOT 5 panel drug test, and a medical fitness-for-duty clearance
  • Posses a CPR/First/AED certification or willing to obtain one.
  • Genuine curiosity about people and business and a passion for helping older adults
  • Available shifts: Shift 2: Thursday, Friday, Saturday (approximately 30 hours) Optional to drive own vehicle (1099) on off days at higher trips rates to gain additional hours
  • Good teamwork mentality: able to build trustworthy and supportive working relationships
  • Strong Smartphone/computer skills using a transportation management Driver App is a plus
  • High school diploma or equivalent
