Key Responsibilities: Insurance Underwriting: Work closely with internal stakeholders to gather and analyze data necessary for underwriting across all lines of insurance, including property, liability, General Liability Wrap, worker’s compensation, management liability, cyber, crime, builders risk, and professional liability. Policy Management: Oversee the underwriting process for Contractor’s Equipment, Drone, and Travel Accident insurance policies, ensuring all documentation is accurate and up to date. National Flood Insurance Program: Lead Hanover’s national flood insurance program by managing applications, certificates, and maintaining strong communication with brokers and risk management team. Surety Bond Management: Take full responsibility for the life cycle of surety bonds, from application and execution to invoicing and exoneration, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations and mitigating risks. Insurance Renewal Tracking: Monitor insurance policy renewals and assist the accounting team with the timely payment of insurance invoices. Contract Review and Compliance: Review insurance provisions and provide expert input on a variety of agreements and contracts, including development management agreements, joint venture agreements, property management agreements, construction contracts, leases, and loan agreements. Claims Support: Assist the Claims Manager with incident reporting, training, claims tracking, litigation discovery, claims processing, ensuring efficient handling and resolution of claims. Insurance Compliance Expertise: Serve as a subject matter expert on insurance compliance and contractual requirements for the construction and property management divisions, providing guidance and support as needed. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree required. 2-5 years of experience in a risk management department, insurance company, or brokerage, preferably within the real estate industry. Professional designations such as ARM, CPCU, or equivalent are preferred. Strong understanding of development, construction, and property management, including contract negotiations. Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint, and contract management software (e.g., Timberscan, ProCore, Entrata). This role requires the individual to work in-person at our corporate headquarters in Houston, Texas.
