As a Lead, you will direct the work of Production employees ensuring safety and by providing leadership that is needed during work hours. This position requires a good knowledge of food production equipment, safety protocol, plant facilities, and maintenance practices. This position will work with beef, chicken and pork products.
Specific Responsibilities:
- Directs and provides guidance in the performance of their daily duties.
- Maintain equipment for proper function.
- Ensure that departmental work is performed in a safe manner according to company safety standards.
- Train subordinates within the department in general and equipment specific cutting procedures.
- Monitor production equipment for proper operation and performance.
- Serve as backup to the Department Manager in their absence.
- Track, record materials, and other department consumables.
- Know and follow all departmental GMP and SOP'S.
- Confirm that the proper settings are being used on the cutters, hopper, shakers, conveyors, fryers and packaging equipment.
- Log any changes made on settings to processing equipment.
- Keep records of downtime, equipment setting changes and actual daily loss weight.
- Perform other duties as required.
Desired Background/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent. Knowledge of food production equipment, safety protocols, plant facilities and maintenance practices. Team player, positive attitude, good communication skills. Experience with a pallet jack and ability to learn forklift skills.
