A DAY IN THE LIFE OF AN Accounting Admin Assistant / Collections Specialist

Essential Responsibilities:

* Process accounts payable by receiving, processing, verifying, scanning, entering, and reconciling vendor invoices and expense reports. * Resolving invoice or payment discrepancies and documentation. * Reconciles processed work by verifying entries and comparing system reports to balances. * Verifies vendor accounts by reconciling monthly statements and related transactions. * Posts payments by recording check, electronic and credit card transactions. * Resolves collections by examining payment plans, payment history, and activity related to payment. * Performs the collection process. * Monitors student accounts receivables by tracking, researching and resolving unpaid invoices. * Ensures prompt response to customer and vendor requests. * Performs administrative and customer service duties as assigned. * Performs customer service duties including answering the phone and booking calls.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR AN ACCOUNTING ADMIN ASSISTANT / COLLECTIONS SPECIALIST

* High school diploma or equivalent * Customer service and collections experience * Demonstrated computer proficiency using Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, etc.) or equivalent software, the internet, email messaging, and a variety of software applications. * Strong interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse populations. * Skill in accurate record keeping with strict attention to detail. Skill in organizing tasks, documents, and materials with efficiency and accuracy. * Proven record of accountability, follow-up, and follow-through. * Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a service environment that is subject to frequent interruptions and skill in setting priorities that accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities. * Confidentiality is a must
