Position Overview

Serves as the senior analyst for the Derivative Operations.This entails independently managing the daily processing tasks including validation of new trades, settlement of collateral, and settlement of derivative payments and contributing to change management.The senior analyst is expected to propose solutions and work with senior leadership of the group to drive change including the management of their own projects.

Responsibilities

  • Processes the routine day to day duties associated with the group's task list
  • Daily collateral management including trade valuation, interaction with external trade counterparties, and settlement of activities
  • Trade capture of all derivative activity
  • Derivative Reporting
  • Confirmation Management
  • Reconciliations with dealers and accounting system
  • Interest payment processing on all external and internal positions
  • Internal reporting on Derivative Valuation
  • Weekly and Monthly internal collateral reporting
  • Regulatory Reporting (incl. Dodd-Frank) Compliance Management
  • ISDA and FCM legal document management
  • Maintaining regular and predictable attendance
  • Providing ideas and feedback to improve processes and achieve straight through processing
Requirements

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Required

•Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Accounting, Math, Science, or equivalent working experience AND
•5+ years of derivative related work experience
OR
•Masters degree in Business Administration, Finance, Computer Science, Accounting, Math, or Science
•3+ years of derivative related work experience

Preferred:
•Reinsurance or insurance industry knowledge OR
•Banking or Brokerage industry knowledge

SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Required:
•Clear interest in deepening knowledge of derivative instrument
  • Programming skills in SQL and/or Python or equivalent language
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with complex issues and solve problems both within teams and independently

•Good communication skills (both written and verbal)
•Ability to be flexible when needed, take initiative, and demonstrate accountability
•Ability to set goals, multitask and prioritize workload
•Ability to work well within a team environment and participate in department projects
•Ability to balance detail with departmental goals/ objectives.

•Basic knowledge of derivative processing
