Job Description

Tyto Athene is searching for a Automation Engineer IIItowork on the Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) program. The Global Enterprise Network Modernization - OCONUS (GENM-O) is a critical mission provider responsible for keeping the Army connected through global network modernization projects. The Army Global Unified Network (AGUN) will unify the next generation of Army transport to comply with the Joint Regional Security Stack (JRSS) divestiture mandate. A phased systematic approach is required to provide individual sites with standardized, updated technology systems to ensure the Army's Information Technology (IT) infrastructure is equipped to provide soldiers with cutting-edge technology to ensure applications, data, and enterprise services are accessible, trusted, and interoperable across the globe.

Responsibilities:

  • Leads the design and engineering of automated systems to enhance process efficiency and accuracy.
  • Leads the development and implementation of test protocols to assess the reliability of these systems, pinpointing opportunities for increased automation to boost productivity.
  • Provides expert technical support for automated systems as needed.
  • Drive experienced automation engineers to conceive, refine, and sustain automated solutions addressing common application and network challenges.
  • Implements the creation and refinement of automation alongside senior developers, emphasizing the importance of clean, maintainable, and efficient programming practices.
  • Leads code reviews, offering and welcoming constructive feedback to ensure the quality and effectiveness of automation efforts.
  • Identifies and rectifies issues within existing automation, software, or network configurations, leveraging a comprehensive understanding of current technologies and trends in automation, including Robotic Process Automation (RPA).
  • Produces automation-related documentation for customers and contributes to Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) teams, specializing in the operational aspects of software and/or networks.
  • Mentor and lead Junior and journeyman automation engineers in the design, develop, and maintain automated mitigations to common application and network issues
  • Write clean, maintainable, and efficient code
  • Participate and provide guidance in automation code reviews and provide constructive feedback
  • Troubleshoot, debug, and fix issues in existing automation, software or network configuration
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging technologies and trends in automation or RPA
  • Author, build and review automation related customer deliverables
Qualifications:
  • Has expertise building automation as part of a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) team in the operation of software and/or networks
  • Has expertise using multiple scripting languages (Python, Yaml, Powershell, Bash, etc.)
  • Has expertise delivering automation with through DevOps / DevSecOps pipelines
  • Expertise with version control systems such as Git, GitLab, GitHub, etc,
  • Has expertise building and deploying containers (Docker, Kubernetes)
  • Has expertise optimizing and maintaining applications / automation written in multiple programming languages such as Java, Python, JavaScript, C#, etc
  • Has expertise implementing Robotic Process Automation (RPA) and has understanding of the RPA tool landscape
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • A combination of education and experience will be considered in lieu of a degree. Master's degree with five (5) + year of experience or a Bachelor's degree with ten (10) + years of experience or an Associate's degree or High school diploma with fourteen (14) + years of experience
Certifications:
  • DoD 8570 IAT Level II certification (i.e., Security+, CySA+, CCNA - Security, CND, GICSP, GSEC, SSCP)


Clearance: Active Secret Clearance
