Your Role
As a key contributor, you will work closely with Software Engineers, Industry Experts, and Product Managers to comprehend security needs and transform them into effective automated solutions. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Architecting secure data models and workflows.
  • Building efficient security data ingestion and processing pipelines.
  • Implementing automated security controls and validation processes to support advanced use cases such as threat detection and incident response.

Utilizing the full spectrum of Amazon technologies, including state-of-the-art Generative AI capabilities, you will create groundbreaking security automation services that foster continuous enhancement of Amazon's security framework. Your extensive expertise in security engineering and enthusiasm for automation will empower the AWS SOC to stay ahead of emerging threats.

Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:

  • Act as a technical leader within your team, engaging independently with product and system owners to innovate security operations.
  • Proactively identify risks and communicate them to your manager and stakeholders, proposing mitigation strategies.
  • Collaborate with software engineers to integrate security-focused design principles and identify potential security vulnerabilities.
  • Effectively communicate ideas to diverse audiences, crafting narratives and strategic documentation.
  • Foster constructive dialogue among customers, leaders, and engineering teams to resolve contentious issues.
  • Define metrics to assess team progress, customer experience, solution quality, and operational excellence.
  • Design, implement, and maintain security-centric components within broader software solutions.
  • Develop and support security-focused automation tools and services.

Basic Qualifications
To be considered for this role, you should have:

  • 5+ years of programming experience in languages such as Python, Ruby, Go, Swift, Java, .Net, C++, or similar.
  • A Bachelor's degree in computer science or a related field.
  • Experience implementing security solutions at the business division level.

Preferred Qualifications
Additional qualifications that would be beneficial include:

  • 5+ years of experience in threat modeling, secure coding, identity management, software development, cryptography, system administration, or network security.
  • Familiarity with AWS products and services.
  • Knowledge of system security vulnerabilities and remediation techniques.
