JOB SUMMARY
Manages all pre/post-award grant and contracts operations. Oversees, assigns, reviews, and participates in the work of staff responsible for pre/post-award duties to ensure compliance of internal and external procedures.
Job Duties
- Management and oversight of pre/post-award processes that include reviewing and approving activity for professional staff.
- Assigns duties to personnel and oversees work in progress for all pre/post-award activities.
- Provides internal/ external training for all pre/post-award activities.
- Provides guidance to the institution, faculty, and staff for proposal submission requirements including interpreting sponsor and institutional guidelines.
- Provides policy and procedure interpretation to academic departments and prepares specialized reports to federal and sponsoring agencies.
- Manages staff to include interviewing, hiring and training of employees; setting and adjusting pay rates and hours of work; planning and directing work; appraising productivity and efficiency for the purpose of recommending promotions or other changes in employment status; handling complaints/ grievances and disciplining when necessary.
- Performs all other duties as assigned.
Education
Bachelor's degree is required.
Experience
Seven (7) years related experience to include two (2) years in a supervisory or management role is required.
Preferred
MBA or Master's degree is preferred.
Demonstrated experience with NIH and other federal grants
Prior work with NIH contracts
Budget forecasting and resource management
Risk forecasting/management
