Key Role:

Serve as an environmental specialist supporting DoD clients with environmental program management, stakeholder engagement, and data analysis. Support meetings, conferences, and key initiatives to advance DoD's environmental program and implement Administration priorities. Be involved in the cleanup of contaminated sites, overseas environmental compliance, sustainability, environmental planning, environmental justice, environmental resilience, and compliance, including drinking water, clean water, wastewater, air, hazardous waste, and toxins. Apply experience in program support, research, and coordination to this position. Work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects and adapt to new and changing priorities. Support DoD environmental program management, policy analysis, data analysis, and stakeholder engagement. Provide meeting support and coordination to internal DoD and external partner meetings and conferences to facilitate successful client mission implementation.Provide on-site or virtual logistics support, develop agendas, talking points, meeting materials, presentations, and meeting summaries, and participate in the meeting to capture key discussion points and follow-on actions. Research various environmental issues and draw succinct conclusions to include in reports and presentations. Support the development of environmental policies, guidance, and planning documents, including researching and analyzing laws, regulations, and policies, drafting guidance documents, and adjudicating comments. Draft reports and outreach materials, including fact sheets, graphics, websites, or social media to communicate with various audiences on environmental-related topics. Track environmental progress against performance measures, federal and state legislation regulations, and guidance, and compile relevant information in client-ready format. Collect, compile, analyze, and manage datasets to evaluate the impact of and track DoD's environmental programs progress to support policy analysis, program management, and oversight. This position is located in the Washington, D.C., Maryland, and Virginia metropolitan areas.

Basic Qualifications:

  • 1+ years of experience with hazardous substances, climate change, sustainability, clean water, safe drinking water, hazardous waste, or environmental planning
  • Experience with program or policy support, including research, data analysis, outreach, coordination, and logistics
  • Experience with using Microsoft Office Suite products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Knowledge of environmental laws, regulations, policies, or science, including coursework
  • Ability to obtain a security clearance
  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Policy, Public Policy, or Public Administration

Additional Qualifications:

  • Experience with the DoD, Federal agencies, non-governmental organizations, or state agencies
  • Knowledge of the structure and missions of the DoD
  • Knowledge of PowerPoint or graphics software to create and manipulate sophisticated presentation graphics
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team on multiple projects
  • Ability to manage time effectively and be adaptable in responding to multiple priorities and conflicting deadlines
  • Ability to represent the Firm through daily interaction with clients
  • Possession of excellent detail-orientation skills to efficiently achieve thoroughness and accuracy when accomplishing tasks
  • Possession of excellent verbal and written communication skills

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $51,600.00 to $106,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees.
