Astronics Advanced Electronic Systems (AES) is seeking a Software Engineer - CONTRACTOR to join our cohesive team of professional designers in Kirkland, WA.

JOB SUMMARY

The duties of the Software Engineer will be to:
  • Develop and maintain embedded software and tools in compliance with DO-178C processes
  • Develop and maintain documentation in compliance with DO-178C processes
  • Develop and maintain software tools used by customers, engineering and manufacturing.
  • Assist in investigating and resolving software/hardware integration issues
  • Assist in microcontroller board bring-up
  • Assist in customer support and training
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Bachelor degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or other related technical degree
  • 0 to 2 years of experience with embedded software development in C
  • Coursework and/or experience with C++, C#, Java or Python
  • Coursework and/or experience with the software development lifecycle (planning, requirements, design, implementation and testing)
  • Ability to debug source code and troubleshoot hardware with ICE/JTAG debugger, logic analyzer and oscilloscope
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Plus: Coursework and/or experience with CAN protocols, TCP/IP, Qt framework, and cybersecurity
EMPLOYMENT ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS
  • As a US Department of Defense Contractor, Astronics is bound by International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). Must be a US Person under ITAR to be eligible.
  • An offer of employment is contingent on successfully passing a pre-employment background screen and drug test which includes screening for the use of cannabis.

Base salary range is $38.12 ~ $57.18 per hour. Several job-related and non-discriminatory factors including but not limited to experience in comparable roles, skill sets, training, education, licensure or certifications, other qualifications, market conditions and business needs influence actual salary offered.
