As a member of the global communications teams, the Corporate Communications Manager & Writer plays a key role in crafting strategic company and business-related communications that effectively convey the organization's priorities - including its transformation and growth story - and drive engagement among the brand's main audiences, including employees, franchisees, and external stakeholders. Reporting to the Senior Director, Corporate Communications, this role collaborates with partners across the organization and excels in corporate writing and storytelling.

Essential Functions:

  • Create and edit Corporate and executive communication materials, including internal newsletters and articles, web page copy, corporate video scripts, leadership talking points, press releases, presentations, executive speeches, award submissions, and infographics.
  • Develop strong relationships with internal stakeholders across the business to gather information and provide strategic guidance on content. Create and manage ongoing editorial calendar of news and information, in partnership with key departments, to ensure messaging is timely and strategic.
  • Build an understanding of organizational priorities and key messages to develop strategic communications assets. Ensure messaging in various communication materials is consistent and follows brand guidelines.
  • Monitor, track and report on content performance, as well as analyze content data to recommend future improvements, in partnership with colleagues on the Communications team. Stay attuned to emerging topics and various communication tools, techniques/best practices.
  • Work independently and as part of a team. Work with external consultants and agencies, as needed.

Skills and Abilities Required:

  • Bachelor's Degree and 4+ years of professional writing experience in public relations, journalism, or corporate communications.
  • Excellent written, visual and oral communication skills.
  • Strong curiosity, learning capacity and independent decision making.
  • Identifies and analyzes business and audience needs to deliver messages across a variety of channels.
  • Works well in a dynamic, fast-paced environment and manages and meets deadlines.
  • Collaborator who thrives in a cross-functional environment.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail with high quality of work.
  • Understands communication metrics and analytics.
  • Leverages visual tools, e.g. infographics and images, to accompany content.
  • Extensive knowledge of MS Office Suite (PPT, Word, Excel, SharePoint) with ability to quickly learn other applications, as necessary.
  • Knowledge of AP style, and ability to adapt writing style for a variety of platforms and channels, including web and video.
  • Franchised- or QSR-experience is a plus.
